Wow, the Northern Iowa wrestlers really showed out at the Daktronics Open! Five weight-class champions and a team title is nothing to sneeze at. I'm particularly impressed with Trever Anderson's third-place finish at 125 pounds. He's definitely one to watch in the future.
The Daktronics Open is a wrestling tournament that takes place annually. The 2023 edition of the tournament was held on November 19, 2023, at the Stanley J. Marshall Center in South Dakota State University. Wrestlers from SDSU, North Dakota State, Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and the University of Sioux Falls participated in the day-long event
The Northern Iowa wrestlers did a great job at the Daktronics Open. They won a lot of matches and showed how good they are. I’m glad for the five winners, Cael Happel, Adam Allard, Ryder Downey, Jared Simma, and Wyatt Voelker. They worked hard and did well. I also think Trever Anderson did a good job at 125 and came in third. He can do more and I hope he gets better from his injury.
